Early in his career, he understood that conventional policing methods alone cannot reduce crime & create a law-abiding society. He brought in systemic changes within Police, & initiated Student Police Cadet (SPC) to redefine community policing. SPC today covers more than 800 schools, with 2.5 lakh high-school children molded to become young change leaders. Shri Rajnath Singh, then Union Home Minister, in 2018, directed all states to follow Kerala SPC Model.
Children or Youth from the marginalized sections do not have the opportunity as those from the higher sections of the society. This leads many of them to take up wrongful paths to attain immediate success. Through Capability Enhancement & Exploration Program (CEEP), he aims to inculcate self-belief and confidence in children/youth, make them understand their inner potential through a series of skill development programs, and make them equally capable to achieve greater success.
School drop-outs are looked down on by society & are often lured into clutches of anti-social elements. To counter this, he initiated Project HOPE for helping school drop-outs to acquire basic educational qualifications & livelihood skills. Through this initiative, scores of students have been successful in completing their 10th/12th Board examinations and continued their higher education to become more responsible and productive citizens.
Football is the most popular sport in the world. To promote sport and healthy practices among youth at an early age, and to provide professional training in football skills to aspiring youth, a “District Football Learning Centre” (DFLC) was established in the premises of Thrissur Armed Police Camp in 2012. The DFLC aims to catch children young and to provide them ample opportunity to participate in competitive sporting events. It aims to offer a unique experience and to help each kid gain confidence and maturity to equip them to meet the demands of international standards. It provides top class facilities for the needed ones especially those from the lower strata of society. It also aims to keep our young generation away from anti-social activities and thus making them good citizens.
Tribal Education Project is to ensure that all tribal children of Kerala are enabled to utilize the education opportunities available for them, with the help of relevant institutions/agencies. This involves collecting and documenting relevant practical information related to opportunities in education for tribal students and mentoring tribal children to utilize these opportunities, and uplift them to a higher trajectory of life.
CCCL in Government is a unique program to develop civil servants with a courage of conviction and capability to lead a social cause. This program is expected to generate a new breed of civil servants who stand for transformative change in society. CCCL in Government program, apart from supporting selected children with civil service coaching in reputed coaching institutes , the program will train the candidates to practice virtues such as empathy, inclusivity and integrity
The aim of the 1,000 Leader programme is to work with the social change leaders in Kerala to build a more prosperous, safer and joyous society. These leaders are identified and selected from a pool of existing societal leaders spread across various programmes such as SPC, ORC, HOPE, Punyam Punkavanam and other such initiatives.
The 1000 Leaders Programme is a year-long programme and each delegate learns the most progressive leadership techniques to enhance their consciousness, their empathy, their capacity for complex sense-making, their capacity to choose their response and act versus react, their ability to build trust-based relationships and other critical leadership skills etc..
